The update follows the company’s recent announcement on porcelain surfaces and continues its focus on Custom countertops fabricated in-house for kitchens, bathrooms and commercial spaces. Quartz slabs are displayed alongside granite, marble, quartzite and porcelain at the Durham showroom, allowing clients to compare materials, colors and patterns in person before selecting a surface.
According to the company, Quartz Countertops are made from approximately 93 percent crushed natural quartz crystals bound with 7 percent polymer resin and pigments. The result is a non-porous engineered surface that does not require sealing, rates 7 on the Mohs hardness scale and resists stains, scratches and bacteria. The company notes that quartz is NSF certified for food preparation surfaces, making it a practical choice for busy kitchens. Because the material is manufactured, color and pattern remain consistent from slab to slab, which helps on larger layouts and projects that span multiple rooms.
United Granite is an authorized dealer for Cambria, Silestone, Caesarstone, MSI Quartz and Cosmos Surfaces. The lineup includes American-made Cambria quartz, backed by a lifetime warranty, Silestone’s range of more than 40 colors, and Caesarstone, one of the early developers of engineered quartz surfaces.
Quartz is fabricated for kitchen countertops and islands, bathroom vanities, shower surrounds, bar tops and commercial surfaces. Every project is handled in-house without subcontractors, beginning with free digital laser measurement and templating and continuing through CNC fabrication and installation. Fabrication typically takes 10 to 15 days, and installation is usually completed in one to two days.
